Very nice first issue NV and Hand! It moved at a good pace and held my attention well. The characters were well presented and the plot is a good one.

I did catch a minor spelling error but aside from that it was a well presented comic! Cudos!

Well, that issue was a fantastic one, NV! What excellent and a great pace to introuduce the character in just a small part of eight pages. I mean, we even saw the fighting and the villains and still got time to calm down at the end and see who he is not in his Cowboy gear. Awesome storytelling.

And speaking of Cowboy gear, it looks like another one of your things has been sent out of the park, bro. The greyscales add to the touch and the scene with Sharon just was fantastically drawn and a very good piece.

I too noticed the spelling mistake, but it was easy to work, cannot wait until the next installment!

i noticed a few mispelled words, but the story intrigues me. i am curious about who his allies are, how his network of informants works, and i am curious about the leader. i can't wait for the next one. the artwork also looks very natural, with a nice touch of bizareness to the people to give it some character.

I agree with what everyone else has said.I enjoy the concept and I think some of the art is Ironhand's best work to date!

Great second installment guys, you're really starting to flesh out the world you've created, which is no small task when theres a limited number pages. The dialogue crackled and the art was staged brilliantly. Im also a big fan of the black borders, they arent used enough i think.

Stellar job.

Thanks aggie, yeah I'm a big fan of black borders, I tend to use them alot...I use them in The Flea alot...I'm surprised why it's not liked, alot of comics these days are fairly gritty and darker than what they used to be.

getting there guys.
I don't get into alot of Punisher type of grit, but What I'd suggest is no matter who says other wise is use a model, even if it IS from a comic when it involves art OR writtting.

Think it as your favorite artist posing for you, or your fave writter giving you pointers.

One of my life drawing teachers once said to go out and draw people moving around, you can't ask them to stop it makes you faster and you observe all kinds of things, clothes reaction facial exprections in daily activity.
Heck this can even apply to writting by sitting and observing.

I like what I see so far, Really , both writting and art.

I was asked to but my critical opinion on this so please don't get mad.

I voted it was pretty good.

The good

The color was great.
the splicing of the sceens in 1 pic and different things about the same subject excellent.
Good story.

Now what I thought might need to improve.
Cowboy is mentioned a couple time more than needed, no big deal I know its the title.
also no explaination of why they are in the desert now.
maybe I missed it it "last cowboy part 1"

I give it an 8. on a 1 to 10 scale

if I ticked anyone off,,
feel free to rip on my comments in the "soapbox"
or "purgatory" when that comes out.

no, bdog, that would have been too messy and awkward for me, and this book was long long overdue. it was simply recolored weeks after nightvision and ironhand unexpectedly decided to revive the project. but it was inspired by your original colors. we are thinking of doing the same with chris' and jennie's playgod after it's colorist left the series - ie adopt the coloring style employed by the original colorist, shatter - for continuity's sake and just so it's in line with the earlier preview pages in the newsletter.

where credit is due, i've just added the following caption - 'credit: colors for cover inspired by bdog's (brandon dp) original' just below issue #2 cover and in the original post of this thread.

in fact, credit was given to you as the colorist in the interview (as taken verbatim from the original newsletter. we didn't have a separate interview for issue #2, but there could be one in future):

http://mickeys-tavern.com/index.php?showtopic=3849

here it is again, but we have changed it slightly after your post above to indicate only colors for preview pages of issue #1 and inspiration for colors of issue #2 cover:

http://mickeys-tavern.com/index.php?showto...=0#entry1704395

i hope that clears things up. we really don't want to take away any credit due to you or anyone, that's why we ask for the creators' real names for each webcomic project.

always glad to see you back here. friends.gif
